No rare species or wonder phots in this post. Due to the grey almost black skies over Cornwall lately my photography has been restricted this week. How ever at last on the second hand market I managed to pick up a good condition Canon 300mm f2.8 lens. So spent the last couple of days getting used to it, puttting it through some testing. What a sharp lens with a stunningly narrow depth of field. Examples in the pictures below. Some were taken with the 1.4x teleconverter added. So first results with this lens below:

Hi Bob great set of photos, looks like that lens is going to be a good for those low light winter shots. All the best Keith
Well Bob, looks like your new lens is a winner.
Fantastic as always.
John.
Superb set of photo's. I love the seal shots. I can vouch for the lens as I use one with a 1.7 converter, except I use Nikon,
Brilliant shots Bob, good luck with the new lens. I'd love the 300/2.8.
Hi Bob, the 300mm 2.8 is one of the best lenses on the market and your first shots just prove it. You will have hours of fun with it. Steve.
Thanks for all the comments. I should of pointed out it is the IS version. Main use will be a walkabout lens on long treks where the 600mm is just to heavy!!!!
Cracking set of shots Bob. Looks like a good investment.
