British International Helicopters-Last Flight after 50 Years

The worlds oldest running passenger service comes to an end today after fifty years flying to and from the Scilly Isles.  The operation is apparently no longer viable; so a major transport link for the 2000 Islanders and tourists has come to an end. Intentions are to add an additional fixed wing aircraft and ferry service next year, but the impact will be felt on winter travel as during this period the ferry return to dock at Penzance.
