Windy Marazion
Quick visit to Marazion, captured some windsurfings pictures before the tide turned and conditions went very poor rather quickly. So I headed over to the marsh area, it was extremly windy and then the sun went in; so nothing in my favour: However on a plus side it wasn't raining or snowing!!!! Did mange a portrait shot of a Heron before the sun disappeared completely and a shot of a Rook bathing.

Ryan's Field
Visited Ryan's Field, twice in two days. First was a morning call got up first thing for the surfers but despite good surf the lazy beggars all stayed in bed. So off to plan B and a visit to Ryan's Field. Full of geese, lapwing, curlew etc. And this afternoon not as busy but worth the stop to get out of the rain!!!! Spoonbill still there I seen it by tempest at 4 pm today. Kingfisher also made an appearance but I missed the shot. Well onto the images there are a few today.

Shots from the Weekend
Not a great deal around at present so back to pictures of the resident birds.
Magpie: Exif: Canon 1d mk111, 600mm lens with 1.4x teleconverter (840mm), Aperture Priority, F5.6, 1/125 sec, ISO 400, +1 Stop
This bird being black and white is an awkward one to expose even with raw. Very dull light on this day mean't I would have to over expose to get any detail in the shadow area, blowing the highlights. Which is exactly what happened. I will get it right one day just a question of good light and tweaking the exposure

Magpie Again. This is the same image but it has been through an imagenomic noise filter so you can see the subtle differences in the images. It is really useful for cleaning up background noise/digital artifacts.
Gull: Exif: Canon 1d mk111, 600mm lens with 1.4x teleconverter (840mm), Aperture Priority, F5.6, 1/1000 sec, ISO 400, -1/3 Stop
Blue Tit: Exif: Canon 1d mk111, 600mm lens, Aperture Priority, F5, 1/1600 sec, ISO 400, +1 Stop. This blue tit was back lit making things really awkward to get a good shot, just managed it I think! I added the high light in the eye in photoshop (cheating I know) without this the picture would look dead. Again below is the same picture but with a noise filter added.

Spoonbill at Maza
At last a bad run of luck seemed to be over today when I walked into Marazion Marshes just after a Spoonbill had landed on the Marsh a few meters from me. It stayed throughout the day managing to fly when I was walking around (typical). But patience payed off today and I also got it in flight. Exif data etc will follow later.

Barren Spell Continues
Set off to Stihians today as the forecast was bright sunny spells, how spectacularly incorrect that was. It was almost dark at Stiths thanks to the low level cloud. (which was staying put) So I headed off to Marazion in search of better lighting (only just) Checked out the beach but again no waders or anything new on the Marsh either! Wish I had stayed in and watched the footy, then again I didn't when my neighbour gleefully told me we lost 2-0. Todays images are below, I did manage to get to about 5 meters from a Stonechat, found a Water Pipet standing on one leg and realised its claw is injured/infected. The picture of the stonechat looks superb full size. Pictures below.
