January days at RNAS Culdrose

With the Easterly winds blowing here in January,  there was a good opportunity to get some shots of approaching aircraft at RNAS Culdrose. All  local aircraft apart from one visitor which was a AW101 NAWSARH (Norwegian All Weather Search and Rescue Helicopter) in a smashing white/dayglow livery which looks good on the AW101 airframe. Rare blue skies provided an opportunity for  Merlin, Hawk and Beech KingAir 350 which are ever present, and I even spotted a flying  tiger on the coast

First Aviation visit to RNAS Culdrose in 2018

Well it was a sunny day with the odd grey cloud (mostly in the phots) so a quick trip out to get some shots.  Only the local aircraft around, sadly no visitors. But the good light and patches of blue skies make the photography much more pleasing on the eye.

Vistors to RNAS Culdrose

After a somewhat quiet period aircraft visitor wise at RNAS Culdrose, it was good to see a couple of visitors. An MH 60S Knighthawk helicopter from the United States Navy made a short stop. This was followed around the same time by an A400M of 70 Squadron RAF carrying out some practice approaches. A resident 736 squadron hawk also put in an appearance.
